After completion of this course, learners will be able to explain the role, purpose and general use of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Air Pollution Control Cost Manual and prepare and review cost analyses under the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Air Pollution Control Cost Manual for critical Clean Air Act regulatory programs. The course consists of two modules.

Module Audience
• Federal, state, and local air quality regulatory staff and management.
• Staff at industry and consulting firms.

Prerequisite Knowledge
Prior experience preparing or reviewing industrial air pollution control cost analyses is not necessary to complete this module, as it is introductory. A basic understanding of the Clean Air Act regulatory requirements that require cost analyses (e.g., Best Available Control Technology, Best Available Retrofit Technology and Reasonably Available Control Technology) is recommended, as that is not provided in this module.
